If I have a sunburn on my cheeks, will it turn into a tan overtime?

Im lebanese so my skin isn't fair. It tans pretty good. If it helps, I have brown hair and green eyes. But my cheeks got burned today. Just wondering if it is going to peel or become a tan? And if it will become a tan, do you have any idea how long? Thank you :)
